21 The Hon. M. Farnworth moved —
That effective immediately, the Standing Orders of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia be amended by adding a new Standing Order 17B as follows:
Dress.
17B. (1) Members shall dress in professional contemporary business attire for all proceedings of the House.
(2) Indigenous attire, traditional cultural attire and religious attire are appropriate dress for Members.
(3) Headdress must not be worn during proceedings of the House, except when worn under the provision of subsection (2).
(4) Clothing and badges with brand names, slogans, advertising or messages of a political nature are not permitted to be worn during proceedings of the House.
(5) The Speaker shall oversee dress expectations for Members, may provide guidance, and may authorize exceptions to dress guidelines in appropriate circumstances.
For greater certainty, this Standing Order applies to the Chamber and also to Committee of the Whole and Committee of Supply proceedings.

By agreement of the House, the Hon. M. Farnworth tabled the 2020 Parliamentary Calendar.

Bill (No. 33) intituled Securities Amendment Act, 2019 was again committed, reported complete without amendment, read a third time and passed.
The Speaker declared a short recess.
Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor having entered the House, and being seated in the Chair —
Kate Ryan-Lloyd, Acting Clerk of the House, read the titles to the following Acts:
Bill (No. 13) Community Safety Amendment Act, 2019.
Bill (No. 35) Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act (No. 2), 2019.
Bill (No. 36) Gaming Control Amendment Act, 2019.
Bill (No. M 225) Ukrainian Famine and Genocide (Holodomor) Memorial Day Act.
Her Honour was pleased in Her Majesty’s name to give assent to the said Acts.
The said assent was announced by Kate Ryan-Lloyd, Acting Clerk of the House, in the following words:
“In Her Majesty’s name, Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor doth assent to these Acts.”
Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor was then pleased to retire.
On the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 37) intituled Financial Institutions Amendment Act, 2019, a debate arose.
On the motion of Mr. Sultan, the debate was adjourned to the next sitting of the House.

That, when the House next adjourns after the adoption of this motion, it do stand adjourned until 10.00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2019.
